Wolfson Group has announced the launch of Good Salt, a new low‑sodium salt alternative designed to help consumers reduce their salt intake without compromising on taste.
The product, which has been in development for several years, is positioned as a simple, accessible way to support healthier eating habits at home and in foodservice.
Good Salt contains 70% less sodium than standard table salt and is fortified with potassium, a mineral linked to improved cardiovascular health. According to Wolfson Group, the formulation has been engineered to deliver the same flavour impact as traditional salt, addressing one of the biggest barriers to sodium reduction: consumer resistance to taste changes.
The launch comes amid growing public health concern over excessive sodium consumption, which is associated with high blood pressure and increased risk of heart disease. With many consumers struggling to cut back on salt despite widespread awareness campaigns, Wolfson Group sees an opportunity for a product that fits seamlessly into existing cooking and eating habits.
Company representatives say Good Salt is suitable for cooking, seasoning, and table use, and can be adopted by households, restaurants, and manufacturers looking to reformulate products without sacrificing flavour. The brand is also emphasising its clean‑label credentials, noting that the product contains no artificial additives.
Good Salt is now available for purchase online, with retail and foodservice distribution expected to expand over the coming months. Wolfson Group says the launch marks the beginning of a broader push into health‑focused innovation, with additional products already in development.
